Well all good things come to an end and PAX was certainly one of them. We spent our last days trolling around and taking more pics with booth babes. Sunday is usually when they give out more swag so we tried our best to collect as much of it as we could. Oh and I also got to meet and greet Gabe and Tycho the creators of Penny Arcade! I got them to sign the book I purchased. Here are the last set of pics:
On Saturday, Andy, Trav and I were free to wander around aimlessly as we did not really no where to start because there were so many booths. I took this opportunity to take pictures with the booth babes. I have posted pics for your viewing pleasure.
In order to promote the new Dead Rising 2, Capcom rented out some building space and set up a fake hardware store called Green’s Hardware (they even has a snazzy fake flyer!) They put various fake weapons out on display pretending they were for sale. Pizza and pop was provided as well as a free Green’s Hardware t-shirt. They also had contests and set up stations where you could play the demo. A lot of the merchandise was fake weaponry and I have posted some pics for your viewing pleasure.

From September 3 to September 5 I had a total blast! I attended PAX 2010 in Seattle with my good friends Andy and Travis. 3 days of video games, computer gear, Magic cards, you name it! It was super fun. I saw some awesome demos for a ton of video games as well as played exclusive demos just for PAX. We played the Dead Rising 2 demo and got a free bobble head of the main character. We spent most of the day solving some crazy puzzles from Wizards of the Coast so that we could attend their exclusive event on Saturday night. I think I will definitely attend next year. I have posted some pics of the craziness from Friday. We managed to have time to catch a mariners game, which explains the images from Safeco field.
Halo is an awesome series that I’ve enjoyed playing since the original XBox. It’s the first FPS I have truly enjoyed for a console. Final Fantasy is also an awesome series that I have enjoyed playing for a very long time. What if you mashed the two together? You would get this video:

I am a huge fan of Final Fantasy but I haven’t been impressed with the more recent titles (Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XII). Final Fantasy XI was an online game and that was when MMO’s on consoles weren’t that popular. Then again I do not play much MMORPG’s. So I guess that’s my personal opinion. Playing Final Fantasy XII got boring fast. The storyline didn’t stick to me the same way that Final Fantasy VII to Final Fantasy X’s story lines did. Also, I hated the new fighting system. Sure, it was innovative and brought something different to the table, but I guess I really enjoyed old school RPG’s and I am biased. Anyways, there is a preview for Final Fantasy XIII that came out. I’m pretty sure this is old but I thought it was a pretty cool trailer. The fighting system looks pretty sweet (even though it’s in Japanese) and it looks like it will have an interesting storyline. Sorta reminds me of Final Fantasy VII actually. Enjoy.
I finally completed my COMP 8006 course. The one course that had me pulling all those all-nighters to finish assignments that I was given adequate time to complete. The last class was yesterday morning at 10:00AM. Our final assignment was literally an assignment that required us to look through an assortment of logs and write a report on your findings. Yep, that’s right…freakin’ log files. And no, not just one log file, 1GB of LOGS. 1GB of TEXT! I never realized how many kinds of logs existed until this final project took a hold of my life. There were CRON logs, System Logs, Boot Logs, SNORT Logs, httpd access logs, httpd error logs…the list keeps going. That list also included Windows logs. The main objective was to look at logs from 3 separate networks and determine what occurred. For example, in one network a 3proxy exploit was performed, which allowed an attacker to cause a buffer overflow to a system and run arbitrary code, thus taking control of a system. Too much things too describe which I didn’t even know were possible.
Our instructor gave us adequate time to complete this final project. One month, to be exact. So when did I choose to start it? About one week ago. I hardly got anything done within that week though. So, it boiled down to this. I stayed up on Thursday night all the way into Friday morning (6AM to be exact). Got a good portion completed and then decided that rest is an important thing. I woke up at 2PM and worked all the way until 8AM the next day. Went to Richmond to meet up with my friend Travis to get our projects bound together. Finally got to school at 10AM to successfully hand in the final project and complete my final (which is another story altogether). Ah procrastination, you got me again you little devil you. Anyways, the course is done! Pulling this all nighter to complete the assignment brought back those stressful memories of BCIT. Finishing a project under pressure, as well as not seeing your friends, EVAR! Those were the things I DID NOT miss from being a full-time student.
Anyways, after the final, I went to Earls with Christina then decided to go home. I unknowingly passed out neglecting the fact that my friends were to come later and I was supposed to open the door for them. Not a good idea to forget your friends. Let’s just say jumping up and down on someone’s bed is the best way to wake them up.
Ahh well, just happy that course is over. It’s too bad I already start school tomorrow 
. No breaks.
Ohh and on a side note, I bought a legal copy of Starcraft. Yeah, I know ghetto. My friends got me into it.
